Mission

Black Curators in Dance and Performance (BCDP) is an intergenerational member-led group that supports professional and social networking, mentorship, collaboration, and advancement among Black curators and arts workers.

We welcome members at all levels of experience working independently or within institutions. BCDP recognizes the need to hold ethical, affirmative space specifically for Black curators and arts workers. We are committed to providing a dynamic forum in which to share ideas and encourage professional curatorial development.

Vision

BCDP will:

(1) build its membership to increase the visibility of Black dance and performance curators and further underscore the critical role its members fulfill within the larger performing arts community

(2) provide our members with a dynamic forum for sharing knowledge, resources, and opportunities

(3) stand in solidarity with allied arts fields and social justice movements
